We survived.

We survived lice in our house. Milo went to school and told his teacher he had "fleece" last week.
I also burned my scalp after putting Listerine on my head. I read on Pinterest that Listerine will kill and prevent head lice. I was getting so anxious about the possibility of having lice on my head, because I have so much hair. I could spend hours going through my hair with that tiny comb. A terrifying thought.  I left the Listerine on my head the whole day. It was burning but not enough to rinse it out. By midnight my head was pounding. I rinsed out my hair and it was so burned that my skin is peeling off. I look like a burned victim. On the positive side, I love how Beautiful my new skin looks.

Our boys playing around.

I made some tasty steak for Jared. It was his welcome home meal.

This is Maribel. Another mom from Mario's school. We went to a cafe in the morning and later groceries shopping at the open European market.

I'm listening to this book. I love audio books because I can still do my chores me learn new things.

This is one of the clubs I help with.

I also got a new chair for Milo. This one can hold up to 110 pounds.

I need a photo of us riding our bike together.

I also bought a bag of only the lucky charms marshmallows. I am the coolest mom ever. I can feel new cavities in my mouth.

My gorgeous boys.

I was going through my old photos and videos last night, I found this beautiful video of Mario singing. I am so glad I have these beautiful moments of my children. I can remember how their voices uses to sound like. They are getting older and their voices are changing. I love my babies.

I can do this.

When you think you have everything under control: My thoughts these last two weeks.

First week of school was a sucess. I am enjoying my alone time. I have been cleaning and organizing like a mad woman. It feels great.

Art noon committee is organized and all the dates set up with the volunteer and well as the noon science committee too.

PTA package renew with all the activities for the new school year. Check is attached.

Can you volunteer for picture day? No. I have my orthodontist appointment that day.
Another email about volunteering at the library.. A new email about a field trip.

Cookbook club. I'm so excited to see my friends.

In cookbook club: I made this Mediterranean baby Spanish date salad.  When getting the ingredients, I was confusing dates with figs. I thought they were the same thing. Thankfullly an employee at the store helped me. It was sweet and crunchy thanks to the pita.

I took the boys to ride their bikes and later for pizza to their favorite place. Brownie points for me!

There is nothing more annoying than a child nagging for cookies.  I gave Mario all the ingredients and I told him, good luck. He actually did a pretty good job mixing everything. I just taught him to be more independent. Good Job, Jenny.
Business in the front party in the back. Silly Milo.
Note to myself, don't let this dude eat all the cookie dough.

Hanging out with another mom. Rikki makes me so happy, she makes me feel silly. We went bike shopping, vinegar tasting, and got free samples at Sephora. That's what I called an amazing morning.

I was eleven years old the last time I rode a bike. I  tested many bikes and had  the time of my life, I bought this one cruiser bike. I named it Kiss. I am in love. The best part is that Milo rides with me in the back. He is so fun and crazy. No more driving to school!

More house cleaning. I got my area rug washed and we played word bingo to help Milo with his reading.
I am feeling pretty awesome. Jared is not in the USA and I am being so efficient that the boys are barely noticing he isn't here.
Playing board games is a Huge accomplishment for me. I hate board games with a passion. I am feeling very proud of myself.
And then, bam! It happened. Milo has been scratching his head which I didn't think anything of it. He came to my bed a few minutes ago (1am) to tell me that his head itches.  He got lice from school! How? In two weeks? Is that possible?
Not just that, my hair itches now. I don't know if it is psychological or what?  What am Ian going to do? Should k take him to the pediatrician or just buy over the counter stuff? Didn't I read about a new super strength of lice on the news?...Do you know how much hair do I have? This is going to be a nightmare.
I can't wait to call the school tomorrow and tell them that my child has lice. It won't be embarrassing at all...
Geesh, I already washed sheets early this week. Now, I will have to disinfect everything in my house all over again. Lol Good one, universe. Good one.

Anxiety please go away so I can sleep. I have a long day ahead.

First Day of School for Milo.

Today was a special day because the baby of our family went to school for the first time. Milo is in kindergarten.  He was ready to join his brother at the school. We got to the school and had some free pastries that were provided by the PTA for everyone.

I woke up, make the boys fresh orange juice and pancakes. The boys got ready and I helped them to brush their hair and put their shoes on.

Mario and Milo are very picky with their food. They won't eat anything that might resembled a vegetable. It is a sad situation because I have to bribed them most of the time to eat one piece vegetable.
I made them peanut butter and jelly sandwich (for Milo because he doesn't eat stuff with milk) and cheese sandwich for Mario with potato chips, fruit, and chocolate chip granola bars for snack for lunch.

We've also designed our own backpacks.
Minecraft and Star Wars theme.

They are so adorable.  It was a perfect except for the fact that Jared wasn't here.

I don't think this is a great picture of me but the way Mario is hugging me is priceless.
I hope both of them are always close to me.

The Hobbs Bros' ready to take on the world.

He is pure perfection and I am so lucky that he is mine.

He is a third grader. I can't believe it.

I took a quick photo of Milo.

Olympic Games.

We were lucky enough to go to see the Olympic Games. We saw beach volleyball and walked around Copacabana. It was such an amazing experience to live in Rio de Janeiro. I honestly didn't want to come back. Latino culture is so different than the type of American culture that I have been exposed to. I love how warmed and welcoming everyone is. It was fun, like everyone was just like me but in different colors.
I love hugging people and being hugged. I totally forgot how I used to kiss people on the checks to say hello instead of the cold handshake. I love how the culture is so pure and honest. There is not passive aggressiveness which was a new  experience for me in the USA or back hand complements. How does people come up with those things?
I felt refueled after being around such a wonderful culture. Hanging out and enjoying others people's company, was amazing. I'm so glad we are having the opportunity to learn from many cultures and opening our understanding of the world. Mario and Milo loved it.
I didn't wear makeup and it was awesome.

Coming back home.

San Francisco Airport. We are home again!

Unpacking our online shopping. We are ready for school to start.
The boys awesome backpacks. I will have a special post about Milo's first day of Kindergarten.

I also fixed my deviated septum. It was so much cheaper to do in Brazil. I can breath so much better now and as a bonus, I got rid of the bump on my nose.  I'm sharing this because I want to share with you, not because I have to. These are my doctors: They are a plastic surgeon and an otolaryngologist. Luciano Loss and Manuel Peralta who happens to be Dominican. He lived very closed from where I grew up and he went to my dream school Intec for Medical School. Before I met Jared, I was going to school  to be a Doctor. I couldn't get a loan to pay for my dream school, so I went to the state college. It was not fun, and three semester later, I met Jared.

It wasn't painful at all. I honestly can tell you that waxing my legs was more painful than the surgery.
Of course, I didn't care and I was walking around with my purple eyes. This handsome guy was  bringing me acai everyday because my throat was so sore. Jared is the best husband ever. Oh, if you were wondering, I do heal fast.
